About Viña Conquista

In 1551, Spanish settlers introduced the first wine grapes in Argentina. In 19th century, the european inmigration brought new cultivation techniques and new grape varieties. 1990: Winemaking renovation. Adoption of new technologies. 21st Century: The world fell in love with Malbec, Argentina turns itself in the 9th wine exporter with more than 1.300 wine cellars.

Our wines are a result of a blend of three Mendoza areas

San Martín, La Consulta (Vistaflores) and San Rafael

EAST REGION

600, 700 masl

Rivadavia, Lavalle, San Martin. 30% of Conquista blend comes from this area that

gives the softness from the oldest vines.

SOUTH REGION

700, 800 masl

San Rafael. 30% Of the wine is compossed by wine coming from the fresh areas of

the south, giving the terroir character with longer complex flavors

UCO VALLEY

1.000, 1.200 masl

Vistaflores, La Consulta, Altamira, Tupungato. 40% Of the blend comes from the

high altitude vineyards of the Andes Mountains. This grapes give the black fruit

character, minerality and tannic structure to the wine.

Pancho Lavaque

Got his Viticulture &

Enology degree at UC davis, 5th generation of winemaker in

Cafayate. His gandfather started producing wine in Cafayate Valley in 1889, starting a

legacy that remains strong until this days. After modernizing Cafayate family wines and

taking them to more than 25 countries, with Conquista Pancho wants to develop one of

the best vineyards and wines in the world

1870 Don José Lavaque planted the first vineyards in Cafayate

1910 Among five brothers, Felix got the wine gene to keep the passion for wine alive in Cafayate

1960 Gilberto Lavaque expands the vineyards to San Rafael, Mendoza.

1980 Rodolfo Felix Lavaque expanded the family business to a national level, seeking for greatness

2004 Pancho Lavaque, is working in Cafayate to develop one of

the vineyards in the world in order to get the finest wines
